Brandon is Senior Counsel with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. He advises on tax issues related to complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, project finance, and financial restructuring. Brandon focuses his practice on the tax aspects of financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance and represents creditors and debtors on tax planning for both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including bankruptcy related tax matters. He also advises public and private companies on the tax aspect of acquisitions, dispositions and other business transactions.

Combining broad transactional tax knowledge with experience in distressed situations and bankruptcy, Brandon provides advice targeted at the unique concerns of distress companies and their investors. His strategies for helping clients include considering the practical and business implication of tax structuring.

Brandon has also advised clients on debt and equity financing transactions, Section 382 issues, Renewable energy investments, formation and operation of liquidating and litigation trusts, cross-border investments, tax-exempt organizations, and general federal tax planning and compliance.
