George is a Tax Partner based in KPMG's San Francisco office and leads the Northern Pacific Building, Construction, and Real Estate (BC&RE) Tax Practice. In this role, George leads the Real Estate Tax Deals and Transactions and Real Estate Tax Compliance Core specialty practices. The Real Estate Deals and Transactions Practice provides M&A, structuring, and consulting specialized to the real estate industry working alongside and collaborating with the largest law firms in the world. KPMG's Real Estate Tax Compliance Core Practice closely integrates with the Real Estate Deals and Transactions Practice to provide full investment life cycle support for all tax reporting and compliance matters. George has advised a wide array of clients in the real estate industry on matters relating to the compliance, reporting, development, and implementation of tax strategies for complex real estate structures. George reimagines the possible regularly challenging the status quo and is passionate about serving his clients while bringing an entrepreneurial and pragmatic solution-oriented approach to his clients as a trusted business adviser.

Before joining KPMG, George served a decade with another Big Four firm in their New York Real Estate Tax Practice. He has successfully managed some of the most complex tax compliance and consulting engagements for global and domestic real estate funds, private and publicly-traded REITs, international tax matters for inbound and outbound real estate investment, and is a resource for 704(c) and other complex Subchapter K issues and open-ended real estate funds.

George is passionate about technology and has championed a number of strategic initiatives for tax technology, digitalization of tax compliance and consulting processes, and the digital up-scaling of his teams while providing additional insights and value-added services to his clients. To meet his client's needs, George mobilizes and leads the firm's best resources and brings all the firm network has to offer. He has experience working closely with his audit and advisory colleagues and has knowledge of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740/FAS 109/FIN 48) working on global tax provisions including tax-related financial statement disclosures.

George holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors) degree with concentrations in Accounting, Management Information Systems, and Management & Technology from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver Canada. He is a United States Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in California, New York, Maryland, and Washington, an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA), and is a Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
