J.D. Stotts has over 20 years of experience serving in various roles of responsibility and leadership in technology. JD is a member of Whitley Penn’s executive leadership team and is responsible for ensuring information technology, security, automation, software development and business support targets are achieved to serve best interests of the Firm and its clients. JD joined WhitleyPenn LLP in late 2017 after serving in various technology leadership roles in financial services and software companies.

JD is a member of the Information Technology Alliance (ITA), advisory member of HLB Information Technology and Automation (an international public accounting consortium), Boomer CIO Circle member and a member of Society of Information Management (SIM). He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County.

JD received his B.S. in Computer Science from Texas Wesleyan University and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).  In his spare time he enjoys being with family, time in nature, reading, grilling and travel.
