Patrick Frey
Pat Frey is a Supervisory Communications Analyst in GAO's Financial Management and Assurance team. FMA supports Congress by conducting financial audits of various federal entities and the U.S. government; maintaining federal auditing and internal control standards; and reporting on issues such as federal data transparency, federal financial systems, and financial management concerns at the Departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, and various other federal entities.
Pat joined GAO in 2008 and currently oversees a team of editors and quality control specialists working to help ensure FMA's products are clear, concise, and adhere to GAO's written standards. Prior to joining GAO, he worked for an advocacy group at a big law firm and for a court reporting company. Pat earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in public policy from Georgetown University.
