LaToya Stallworth

Operations Support Team Leader
BP

LaToya Stallworth is the Operations Support Team Leader for Mad Dog platform located in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). LaToya is responsible for managing a quick response team that provides technical, risk management, surveillance, and optimization support for Mad Dog platform.

After graduating from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering, LaToya joined BP in 2006 as a process engineer where she was responsible for leading process improvement projects in Trinidad and Tobago and GoM. She later joined the Holstein platform as an operations engineer, and she served as the onsite technical lead.

LaToya took an educational leave of absence to pursue her MBA at Harvard Business School. While at Harvard, she served as a summer management consultant at McKinsey, and she developed the bankruptcy emergence strategy for a leading petrochemical corporation. She also participated in leadership immersions in China and Rwanda.

Following graduation, LaToya returned to BP to assist during the Deepwater Horizon response. LaToya was the executive assistant to the president of BP's Gulf Coast Restoration Organization. She worked hand in hand with the president to rapidly start up a response organization of more than 300 employees and contractors, and to develop and execute the operations and economic strategies that restored the Gulf states.

LaToya was promoted to operations team leader for PSVM, a floating, production, storage and offloading facility located in Angola. PSVM is one of BP's most complex assets with 35 wells spread over 21 miles and in ultra-deep water depths over 6,500 feet. LaToya led the operations team from first oil production through the first 120 offloads. This was the most rewarding assignment for her as she found great joy in developing the Angolan technicians from apprentices into fellow operations leaders. After Angola, LaToya returned to GoM as Atlantis platform's operations team leader and was promoted to Offshore Installation manager. In September 2018, she began a new challenge in her operations career when she was named the Operations Support Team Lead for Mad Dog.
